A bit of back-story: I own an SV650 and love to fiddle with it. I’ve found the net a great resource for finding ‘how to’s and information on what works and what doesn’t for my bike. One of the better resources I keep finding myself going back to is the weblog of a very blue-haired gal, Bluepoof. Her writeups have helped me install heated handgrips, new brake lines, and a variety of other farkles. Not to mention her love of bikes, BSD, and hockey generate more than a little crush on my part. Cut to Dec 11th-ish; My usual posse and I are gathered to watch the Sharks hockey game on TV - Dan & Drew are finishing up a mid-game analysis and point out that the crowd noise in the background is due to someone proposing to their now-fiancee on the jumbotron (much discussion ensues as to whether that’s such a bright idea or not). Cut to Dec 17th; Checking out all the nice hardware at the International Motorcycle Show in San Jose. Lots of great bikes and cool folks. Who do I spot in the crowd by the AMA booth, but the blue-haired blogger herself! I excuse myself from my friends and make a quick, nervous introduction (it’s almost like meeting a movie star!) and thank her for the invaluable help her pages have provided. Cut to Dec 19th; I decide to check out Bluepoof’s blog to see if she’s written up anything about the show, and whaddaya know, she was the one who was proposed to at the Sharks game!
