Now that’s a pan! | Metafilter
This has been picked up on some other blogs, but I had to post it here - MeFi has picked up on the New Yorker’s less-than-stellar review of Phantom of the Opera and the comments thread has some links to other reviews that had me laughing out loud.

Main Page - WikiPodLinux
This page provides the details of an open source venture into porting Linux onto the iPod (http://www.apple.com/ipod/). So far, we have successfully ported a customized uClinux (http://www.uclinux.org) kernel to the iPod, and written a simple user interface for it dubbed podzilla. Many additional Applications have been written, adding many capabilities not found in Apple’s firmware.
Very slick. I was under the impression from Adam Currey’s podcast that they’d implemented high-bitrate recording, but I must have mis-heard it. That it runs uCLinux apps is excellent.

Flickr: Hands to S. E. Asia
Here we gather images of our hands and send the power of our urge to help the people of S. E. Asia whose lives, families, homes and environment were damaged by the terrible earthquake and tsunamis on 12/26/2004.
Flickr will save the world… or at least try…

How to fix Mom’s computer [Scribbling.net]
Alas, I found this just a few days too late, but still an excellent step-by-step on cleaning up a horribly crippled machine. Like most folks, at least a couple of hours of my Christmas day was spent doing tech support on the family machines. And on that subject, a pox on the house of HP for having such miserable USB printer support!

Tucows MOBILE - Download ringtones, logos, screensavers, wallpapers, real sounds for Nokia Samsung Toshiba and other Mobiles
Yeah, TUCOWS isn’t the fantasic resource it started out as, but it’s still a decent clearing house for apps, and such a site is sorely lacking in the mobile arena.

stamen: mappr: geo-location of tagged images on flickr.com
Yet more Flickr love… People have long had a love affair with cameras, but get frustrated with not having anything to actually do with the fruits of their labor - Flickr gives them that. A million and one things to do with your pictures, and nobody telling you your a horrible photographer.

This site features the sights, sound and flash animation of Disney’s much missed attraction in Disneyland California’s Tomorrowland (now replaced with Star Tours). I have created this site from my own collection of media from auctions on ebay to my own personal ATIS material. Adventure Thru Inner Space web site was in the making for over the span of 8 years. My goal is to share with others who also miss the attraction or have never encountered one of the most interesting, creative and odd rides ever created.

BLADOX - Turbo
Yet another cool use of really simple tech - a device that plugs into the SIM card port of a phone that contains a motion sensor. If motion is sensed, the phone automatically sends an SMS message to your number(s) of choice.
