Streamripper tip…

Posted on June 29th, 2003 in Unfiled by stickyc || No Comment

Streamripper Kicks ass. It lets you save streaming music from WinAmp streams to your HD (except for those greedy $#%@#%s at Live365).
To rip multiple streams at once…:
Use the console version and start it seperately in as many seperate command prompt windows as you want to/have bandwidth for :D

WARNING: this eats storage space like nothing else (except divx I guess), wave your free gigabytes goodbye :lol

If you use the relay option (with different port numbers) as well you can easily switch between them in Winamp.

Personally I like to make ‘ultrasimple’ .bat files of my favourites so they’re easy to start and don’t have crashing port numbers.
Example of my “SRsomafmgroovesalad8001.bat” file:
Quote:
consoleWin32 http://205.188.209.193:80/stream/1018 -d L:\Streamrips\ -r 8001 -q -u FreeAmp/2.x

Welcome to NodeDB.com - The Wireless Node Database Project

“What started out as an attempt to map the Sydney Wireless project nodes in Sydney Australia, ballooned quickly into a world wide mapping service for locations the world over. NodeDB.com is essentially a site where people can go to list their location and information about access points or fixed client connections, so others about can easily locate them based on a geographic directory service. It isn’t, strictly speaking, a service to upload wardriving data to, Wifimaps.com is more suitable, as mapping wardriven locations is the goal of their project.”

“In each page I serve, I include a bogus email address, encoded with the date of access as well as the host IP address and embedded in a comment. [Apache’s server-side includes are great!] This has allowed me to trace spam back to specific hosts and/or robots.”

A good howto on how to set it up, too!

“MacStumbler is a small utility I wrote to emulate the functionality of projects like netstumbler, bsd-airtools, and kismet.
